A constant motto throughout Bjorn Gulden’s tenure as adidas CEO has been placing sport back at the center of the company’s efforts. In 2024, the definition of the term has never been more inclusive, so the emerging relationship between the Three Stripes and the e-sports outfit 100 Thieves very much lives up to that pledge. After coming together for an apparel capsule earlier in 2024, the two partners are reuniting to introduce a brand-new silhouette.
The Palos Hills, debuting in opposing red-on-black and black-on-red colorways that evoke the brand’s signature imagery, takes its name from founder Nadeshot’s hometown. Official word from adidas places the model as a reimagining of an archival adidas silhouette, but without further clarification, we’re left to dissect it based on images alone.
Particularly with both outfits relying on a gum sole, the underfoot unit calls to mind the adidas Samba, sharing the triangular foxing that fuses it to the upper. Contrarily, the lack of any mudguard or T-toe detailing at the forefoot lends this shoe pretty solitary status in the Three Stripes lifestyle category, as does the diagonal heel counter towards the back.
Nonetheless, the collaborative atmosphere of either shoe allows it to stand out on top of its compositional intrigue. You can spot the brand’s logo embroidered atop the tongue, side by side with the Trefoil on the heel, and dotting opposing metallic dubraes.
The adidas x 100 Thieves Palos Hills drops in two colorways for $130 each, first via 100Thieves.com on November 2nd before a wider adidas launch on November 6th. Check out official images ahead to get prepared for the drop.
