As if today couldn’t get any better for the start of press tours, Vanessa Kirby steps out for the The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer launch at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and let’s just say—she understood the assignment.
If you know anything about Sue Storm, you’ll know that this Atelier Versace Spring 2016 dress is perfectly on theme. While the Fantastic Four heroine’s catsuit has evolved over the years, the signature blue-and-black colour scheme has remained consistent, making this archival pull both a stylish and symbolic choice.
I’m sure the franchise’s comic book and film fans are geeking out over this just as much as we fashion lovers are, even if it’s for completely different reasons.
Now, no one is shocked that Vanessa gravitated toward this silhouette—it’s her signature. But what is surprising is the level of detail in this look. She’s always been a less-is-more kinda girl, but the cut-outs, colour-blocking and intricate construction of this dress suggest that she’s ready to lean into the Marvel-level grandeur.
Considering this is just the beginning of the press tour, I have a strong feeling this will be the energy going forward—classic Vanessa, but with a little extra oomph. And honestly? I’m so ready for it.
