adidas Crazy 2 Kobe “Silver Metallic” JH9679

The adidas KOBE TWO, Kobe Bryant’s last signature shoe with adidas before cutting ties and moving to the greener pastures in Beaverton, is set to return in 2025 as the Crazy 2. While earlier reports indicating an All-Star Weekend release of the OG White/Yellow colorway has yet to be corroborated by the brand nor retailers, we are getting an official look at the upcoming “Silver Metallic” pair dropping later this year.

Now renamed the adidas Crazy 2 to avoid any trademark infringement issues from Nike, this signature basketball shoe is considered to be a defining relic of the early 2000s era of design. The first adidas The KOBE model was conceptualized with the Audi TT Roadster in mind; its successor followed suit, creating an even more abstract take on a basketball sneaker. At the time, the first two models were ridiculed by the public for a variety of reasons; even Kobe was displeased with the results, eventually factoring into his decision to end his time with the German sportswear giant.

What’s deemed “cool” is different in 2025. The Crazy 2 actually adheres to what adidas Basketball is looking to accomplish now. Its bizarreness lends to its appeal, and with the Kobe Bryant estate no longer tied to the shoe, adidas has the opportunity to get a bit creative with the marketing.

The adidas Crazy 2 “Silver Metallic” is expected to launch on adidas.com and select adidas Basketball retailers beginning this April 2025. MSRP is expected to be $160, with the original shoebox returning sans Kobe’s silhouette.
