One last fashion moment before I recharge for Sunday’s Oscars fashion marathon.
Jurnee Smollett and Cynthia Erivo stepped out for Women in Film’s 18th Annual Oscar Nominees Celebration at Wheelhouse West Hollywood, delivering two very different, but equally captivating looks.
Now, I need to address my biggest frustration of the night: where are the solo pictures of Cynthia Erivo? Because this Jacquemus Fall 2025 dress is one of my absolute favourites from her this year.
Cynthia’s been serving up moody, dark hues throughout awards season—perfectly in line with both the Wicked theme and her campaigning during awards season—but this soft yellow dress was a breath of fresh air. Styled with a yellow leather corset belt and a Jacquemus leather clutch, she took a very stylish walk down her own yellow brick road. And as if we needed another nod to Elphaba, she added a touch of sparkle with her Christian Louboutin green pumps. Subtle, but genius.
Jurnee Smollett, on the other hand, embraced classic Schiaparelli surrealism in a black strapless dress adorned with the house’s signature gold buttons. She doubled down on the gilded accents with a gold Bottega Veneta clutch, creating a look that was sleek.
Now, let’s get back to my main issue—where did Cynthia’s solo pictures go? Seeing the video of her on E! News’ Instagram, I’m desperate to know why they didn’t make it to Getty. A mystery for another day, I suppose.
