It’s those power shoulders for me, and how suited it was to a gloomy day in Cannes.
However, Elsa Zylberstein reminds us that this is a summer film festival wearing a heavenly Stéphane Rolland Spring 2024 Haute Couture gown adding gold accessories to complement the accent on her shoulder.
It would appear that everyone is dipping into the archives as Guan Xiaotong glided down on the red carpet wearing an stunning Elie Saab Spring 2008 Haute Couture strapless gown styled with pink Jimmy Choo Alia crystal pumps.
Between the mesh sleeves and subtle embellishments, Maïmouna Doucouré’s Dior Haute Couture black dress managed to stand out on this red carpet.
The most unique look of the evening goes to Indonesian actress and model Putri Marino, who used this world stage to highlight Indonesian couturier Stellarissa.
You might be on the fence when it comes to the contrast of the train, but the dress would work with or without it for me. I don’t mind that it is not also velvet.

I’m usually a fan of Stéphane Rolland, but the accent on the shoulder of this Spring 2023 Haute Couture velvet gown didn’t work for me on Sanaa El Mahalli.
And I doubt it would work on anyone, except for Nieves Álvarez of course.
You’ll be happy to see that Tiffany Tang lined this Fendi Spring 2024 Couture nude embellished gown.
Zahra Amir Ebrahimi kept things simple in a little black dress from Dior.
