New Balance 2002R “White/Black/Gold” M2002RPN

The New Balance 2002R continues its march as one of the more dominant styles you’ll catch on the street. While it’s certainly ceded some of its hype to its catalog siblings like the New Balance 550 and New Balance 1906R, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better daily driver style anywhere in the industry. Doubling down on that appeal, the latest edition cooks up a classic combination of grayscale tones with some metallic pop in the margins.

White and black are the dominant hues on this New Balance 2002R. Platinum largely carries the leather & mesh upper while midnight anchors the design on the suede heel counter, sockliner & outsole. In between, select swatches of reflective silver and gold paint the most eye-catching sections, whether it’s weaving across the toe-box, outlining the N logo or breaking up the aged midsole on visible ABZORB cushioning. While the off-white midsole is something we’re all accustomed to by now, it’s a more subtle application here, providing the slightest of contrast in the lower half.

This New Balance 2002R comes your way in Fall, retailing for $150. Catch official retailer images just ahead to get a sense of what to expect when it materializes.
