Saint Laurent Menswear Winter 2024 Ad Campaign

Subsequent to taking up the mantle as creative director of Saint Laurent in 2016, Anthony Vaccarello has remained faithful to a select rooster of fashion photographers for the brand’s campaigns. Vaccarello’s true tried-and-tested faves have been David Sims and Juergen Teller. However, the Belgian designer often decides to throw us a curveball and enlists the likes of Gray Sorrenti. Vaccarello surprisingly called upon Glen Luchford (who had not shot a Saint Laurent campaign for over 20 years) for the womenswear Winter 2023 campaign offering, and it’s a repeat performance for the menswear Winter 2024 campaign. Luchford’s rather wonderful campaign imagery pays homage to scenes created by masters – from Michelangelo to Édouard Manet. Throughout the stylized campaign, a diverse cast (including Awar Odhiang, Justino Gonzalez, Samuel Elie, Thomas LeMaigre, Vassili Schneider and Zeke Lindsey) lounge around a plush jewel-toned set.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Loving the inversion of Manet’s Olympia!” exclaimed Mody.

“FINALLY SOME FASHION! Good god this is great. Anthony Vaccarello doing something so many brands are scared to do. Not product lead, just stunning images that you want to see in print and rip out of magazines and pin them to your wall as a kid. THANK GOD!” Kite enthused.

Aracic commented: “It’s an interesting direction, the images look fantastic and I have absolutely no complaints! Saint Laurent campaigns usually appeal to me. This is a nice change from their usual Sims studio portraits or Teller’s Parisian streets. Love the cinematic mood and artistic compositions, it’s truly beautiful.”

“Very well done. To reference the dark side of YSL in this sultry way is the only way to go with this house,” voiced forum member jeremydante.

“I am very pleased with what I am seeing thus far. Luchford did a great job,” MModa applauded.
