Diane Kruger was back on the red carpet promoting her film, ‘The Shrouds’ in Germany on Thursday, after the film first premiered with a lot of fanfare during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with her wearing a stunning blue Atelier Versace gown.
She’s now gracing the Hamburg Film Festival with a more understated yet undeniably chic look. Gone are the glittering embellishments and scriptural details; instead, Diane opted for a relaxed, practical ensemble that’s all about refined, edgy glamour.
The actress wore a Magda Butrym cinched leather jacket, paired with a sleek black turtleneck, a classic black skirt, patterned tights, and patent leather pumps.
The look was a throwback to a more rebellious era, with elements that seem to nod to the ‘80s—think Madonna’s iconic pairing of lace and leather but reimagined with modern, grown-up sophistication. The leather jacket’s loose silhouette added an air of rockstar nonchalance, balanced by the practical elegance of her styling choices.
The choice of patterned tights was a masterstroke—bringing a playful texture that kept the all-black ensemble from feeling too safe. It’s a far cry from the glamorous Versace gown of Cannes, but there’s something refreshing about Diane’s ability to switch gears so effortlessly. This isn’t a look that shouts; instead, it murmurs with authority, confidence, and a touch of nostalgia.
As an ‘80s child myself, I’m naturally gravitating towards this ensemble. It’s polished but retains a sense of not taking itself too seriously.
Diane’s style has admittedly been more subdued of late, but this is one look I’m fully onboard with.
