Following yesterday’s photocall, Selena Gomez graced the red carpet at the London Film Festival premiere of her new film ‘Emilia Pérez’, held at the Royal Festival Hall this evening.
In what might be the final stop of her press tour, Selena chose to close out her fashion journey the same way she started it—dressed in red. A colour that has always proved to be a winning colour for Selena.
This time, the pop star and actress opted for a custom Oscar de la Renta gown inspired by the brand’s Spring 2025 collection. The dress was undeniably beautiful and fitting for such a grand occasion, with its rich hue and sweeping silhouette. However, despite the glamour, there were noticeable issues.
The bodice was a major point of contention. The straps, positioned to give the appearance of an off-the-shoulder style, pulled awkwardly at the bodice. But I don’t blame Selena for this, as I’m sure that this was a comfort choice—likely in an attempt to alleviate pressure from the tightly fitted bodice. This unfortunately led to visible seams and a less polished finish. For a custom design, this should have been better tailored to avoid these issues.
Additionally, the skirt featured some dents that detracted from the overall smoothness and elegance one would expect from such a high-fashion gown. Though this was minor in comparison to the bodice.
Selena completed her look with dazzling Chaumet Joséphine Valse Impériale necklace, earrings, Joséphine Soir de Fête ring and the Joséphine Aigrette ring.
