Adele returned to her Las Vegas residency, ‘Weekends with Adele,’ at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, marking Weekend 46 in a jaw-dropping black gown that perfectly captures her unique blend of elegance and star power.
Known for her hypnotic stage presence, Adele continues to bring couture artistry to the Vegas strip, and this latest look from Gaurav Gupta is no exception. As someone who appreciates the finer details with black gowns that can often lack excitement, I found this custom piece truly captivating.
Her Gaurav Gupta Couture ‘Cosmic Black Saturn Orbit’ gown, inspired by Gaurav Gupta’s Aarohanam collection from his Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2024 debut, was a work of art crafted with meticulous attention to detail, and adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystals.
The gown’s asymmetric off-shoulder drape and three-dimensional bugle bead embroidery created a look that feels cosmic and entirely fitting for a global icon like Adele. This gown doesn’t just hint at elegance; it embodies it, radiating an energy that mirrors Adele’s vocal prowess.
The gown took 93 hours of embroidery, showcasing the dedication of five skilled artisans who brought this creation to life. With 2,880 meticulously placed small crystals, interspersed with 244 larger crystals, the gown sparkles in a way that enhances Adele’s performance. Each crystal, bead, and stitch feels purposeful, contributing to a silhouette that reflects Gaurav Gupta’s avant-garde design sensibility while staying true to Adele’s timeless style.
What I love about this gown is how aptly its title, “Cosmic Black Saturn Orbit.” The name isn’t just a label—it’s a description that resonates with the gown’s intricate, orbit-like neckline and deep, cosmic black shade. Adele’s choice to collaborate with Gaurav Gupta for this residency speaks volumes about her appreciation for artistry, and this gown reinforces her commitment to presenting something fresh with every performance. It’s a high point in her Las Vegas residency, as we continue to be left mesmerised by both her music and her impeccable taste.
