Nike has seamlessly integrated its retro models from the 1980s into golf culture. From the Air Max 1 to the Air Jordan 1, these iconic silhouettes that were once made for sport have been nothing short of appropriate for the green, bringing a level of familiar style to a sport once known for a pompous attitude.
Next in the line of retro golf classics is the Air Max 1 ’86. The “new” build of the running shoe classic — the first-ever to feature visible Air Max cushioning — reflects designer Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch of the model, presenting the truest interpretation of the silhouette.
However, Air Max 1 loyalists have had a hard time accepting this variation due to the established attachment and connection to the “older” model, despite this iteration, which was brought to market in 2023, seems to more accurate to history.
Regardless of where you stand, this latest “Chlorophyll” colorway of the Air Max 1 ’86 Golf is confirmed to arrive on Nike.com and Nike Golf retailers this Spring 2025 for $150.
