It’s impossible to catch Sha’Carri Richardson unless you spot her in a photoshoot. In her latest session with Nike, the track and field superstar was spotted wearing an all-new women’s footwear model called the Nike Superfly.
The name confirmed by a Nike representative, the Superfly is a running-inspired silhouette that features a streamlined design marked by perforated uppers and a smooth midsole. The silhouette aims for the same sleek aesthetic seen on runners as it sheds any excess padding for a slim, low-profile fit at the toe — common design principles found in track spikes.
The silver upper wraps around the entire shoe, broken only by the toe-cap that spills downwards from the laces and tongue. A miniature Swoosh logo sits towards the rear of the heel to maintain the minimalist appeal.
Official release information for the Superfly has not yet been revealed, although Sha’Carri herself mentions that the shoes are “Coming soon…”
In the months following the Olympics, Nike is letting its athletes run free with the latest and greatest in women’s footwear on feet. Earlier this Fall, gymnast Jordan Chiles threw out the first pitch at a New York Mets game wearing the all-new Air Max Muse.
