This week at The Running Event — the industry’s leading trade show and conference held in Austin, Texas — Under Armour had the Velociti Elite 3, the shoe worn by Lokedi, on display behind glass.

Jonathan Hutnyan, the senior product line manager for run at Under Armour, walked FN through the technology that is used in the Velociti Elite 3, as well as the key differences from its predecessor. One of the main differences is the removal of Flow, the brand’s responsive and grippy foam compound that eliminates the rubber outsole, which was introduced in 2021. Because of this, Hutnyan said the brand was able to make the overall shoe lighter, which now weighs 7.7 ounces, down from the 9.5 ounces of its predecessor.

The Velociti Elite 3 also features a full-length carbon fiber plate, as well as Hovr+, the brand’s new midsole compound, which Hutnyan described as a HTPU bead foam. The midsole stack height is 37 millimeters in the forefoot and 39 millimeters in the heel. Also, the UA logo on the lateral forefoot was applied is via UV print, which Hutnyan as almost like spray paint.

Hutnyan said Under Armour is continuing to work with Lokedi on updates to the shoe, and confirmed she will wear it in April at the Boston Marathon.

Although more info has been revealed, if you’re interested in purchasing a pair, you’re going to have to wait. The Under Armour Velociti Elite 3 will arrive in 2026 in unisex sizing and retail for $250.
