It was certainly a family affair as Kerry Washington celebrated the unveiling of her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Dec. 2.
She was joined on the Walk of Fame by her parents, Valerie and Earl Washington, as well as her husband Nnamdi Asomugha. The actress and producer slid into a pair of black peep-toe pumps for the occasion, which were well-coordinated with Asomugha’s black lace-up dress shoes.
Washington looked elegant as ever in a floor-length black gown featuring a bejeweled neckline and a light colored lacy section at the top, while lightweight black fabric formed a V-neck and a flowing semi-sheer skirt. The waist was adorned with a silky black bow, adding another delicate touch to Washington’s ensemble. Her husband matched her color scheme with a black suit, showing off a classic look with his blazer and straight-leg pants.
Washington’s shoes were a pair of black platform sandals which featured a pointed toe and a curved strap across the toes. The strap created a peep-toe effect, allowing Washington’s pedicure to be glimpsed. Making a subtle statement beneath her long skirt, the shoes elevated her look while blending in seamlessly with her dress.
The celebratory occasion was also a Shondaland reunion, with Shonda Rhimes showing up in support of Washington in a crisp black ensemble accented by a pearl strand belt and black cap-toe shoes. Washington starred as Olivia Pope for seven seasons of the hit ABC show “Scandal,” created by Rhimes under her production banner. Not to mention, Tyler Perry was also on hand for the event, spicing up his jeans and button-down ensemble with fuzzy brown and white cow print boots.
