Claire Thomson-Jonville is now head of editorial content at Vogue France, having replaced Eugénie Trochu who served as editor since 2021 (subsequent to the departure of Emmanuelle Alt). Thomson-Jonville, now three issues into her tenure, has since welcomed models Loli Bahia and Natasha Poly onto the covers of the French fashion bible. Next up on the cover of Vogue France with the unveiling of the March 2025 issue, is Addison Rae. The American media personality and singer (who rose to fame on TikTok circa 2019 and amassed over 88 million followers) poses for photographer Mario Sorrenti, with Alastair McKimm (Vogue France’s new fashion and image director at large) dressing Addison in a white t-shirt from Gap and a pair of polka-dot shorts from Moschino. Rae seemingly pays homage to Debbie Harry throughout the 80s-inspired cover shoot.
Addison Rae for Vogue France March 2025
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Is this payback for having Natasha on the cover last month?” immediately asked marsnoop2.
“Cut the cameras…right now!” demanded forum member vogue22.
“What the f*ck is that?” questioned Avonlea.
“The Debbie Harry cosplay is off,” Alquimista noted.
Also deeply unimpressed was GivenchyHomme. “Sorry, I can’t defend this one,” they confessed. “I don’t care for the subject, nor do I care for the photos. I expect more for a March cover. This just looks cheap!”
WAVES used the word “tragic” to describe the cover.
“Why the dirty shoes?” asked ivano. “It’s the only thing that I can see. I can’t believe this came from Mario Sorrenti.”
“While I applaud the rebranding of Addison Rae and her commitment to music for now, I think a Vogue France cover is way too soon,” voiced fashionsavvvvvy.
