The second generation of Fear Of God adidas footwear is upon us as a confirmed launch of the Basketball II model is headed our way this December 2024.
Here, Sneaker News reveals official images of both the Mid and High versions of the adidas Fear Of God Athletics Basketball II Model in the “Night Brown” colorway, both of which feature an updated performance ready build and design that is game-ready for hooping.
The outstanding criticism of the first Fear Of God adidas shoes was that the Basketball model was not quite suitable for in-game use. The Basketball I was heavy and lacked any of the modern tech and design that is standard in even the more accessible price-points, but Jerry Lorenzo is ready to deliver with the sequel. In fact, the shoes have already seen NBA action as adidas athlete Gabe Vincent of the Los Angeles Lakers has already put them to use.
These official images reveal the attractive brown upper and cream white opaque soles in two heights. The lower-cut “Mid” sees the abstract striping on the upper with an external heel counter and Fear Of God badging on the sole. The High version is an extension of the Mid with a dedicated ankle strap that assists in lockdown. The outsole traction is arranged in circles, rippling outwards to create multi-directional stickiness on the hardwood.
The Fear Of God Athletics commitment to hooping further comes to fruition with a partnership with Overtime Elite; Jerry Lorenzo’s imprint joins the youth league as the eighth team in the circuit.
Both the Mid and High iterations of the adidas Fear Of God Athletics Basketball II is set to hit retail this December 2024; pricing has not yet been revealed.
