The ZX series is an imperative chapter in the odyssey of adidas Originals past and present. Especially the ZX 600 paragraphs, which’ll likely tell you that it was and still is a subcultural kingpin in an entire division of its own.
Adopted by late ‘80s acid house rave seekers in the brisk north of England – particularly the Mancunians who were arguably the strongest catalysts for the shoe’s momentum – the ZX 600 is tied to a uniquely prolific moment in British history, as well as holding strong significance in other European cities too; Berlin being another big metropolis which sustains a lot of hype for the ZX 600.
Now back in two of its OG colour blocks, the scene has finally been set for a return. A return that hasn’t happened for us since 2006, and feels a bit like looking at an old polaroid photograph which brings you back to that nostalgic summery place you’d forgotten all about. To say that we’re chuffed would be a massive understatement…
Both OG colourways of the adidas Originals ZX 600 return in mesh uppers, which are generously panelled in suede and utilise TPU heel clips for increased support. The saw-edged ‘dePerformancesed’ 3-Stripes mark the sidewalls, while a lugged rubber outsole blends nicely into contemporary spaces. Trefoil adorns the tongue cementing the return of one of the most highly requested silhouettes adidas has in its archive.
Both OG colourways will be available to purchase online at size? on the 15.06.2024.
