After a preview earlier in April, the thirty-ninth chapter of the Air Jordan is ready to lift off on July 23rd, debuting in the “Sol” colorway.
With touchpoints from the Air Jordan 9, the Air Jordan 39 features a bevy of upscale details that reflect Michael Jordan’s current tastes. The soft premium leather addresses the materials typically seen on dress shoes, but there’s a heavy dose of scientific data present on the upper. The design is taken directly from a wear-test sample of the Air Jordan 29 dipped in actual paint; the zones of natural wear and tear informed the final design of the embroidered pattern.
Other key details include the mirror image of the Jumpman logos and the tongue as well as the tongue label; this is inspired by Jordan’s ability to go in any direction he pleased. The arrows at the base of the lace collar represent indicator lights on a car, while the pattern on the rubber grip on the tongue represent the global emblem seen on the ninth Air Jordan model.
Matching Jordan’s elevated taste is the choice of colors for the Air Jordan 39; the “Sol” colorway provides that blend of elegance and heritage via the clean white upper, the opaque outsoles, and the glossy piano black that appears on the heel and exposed mid-foot plate.
Again, a release date for the Air Jordan 39 “Sol” is currently scheduled for July 23rd, 2024 with a $200 MSRP. Check out our Jordan Release Dates 2024 page for the latest developments on July’s Air Jordan releases.
