Anya Taylor-Joy attended the “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” photocall at The Corinthia Hotel on Saturday in London in a coat dress and edgy pair black pumps, adorned with thick straps and silver ornamentation.
“The Queen’s Gambit” actress is often spotted in eye-catching footwear silhouettes, using elevated styles, bold colorways and whimsical adornments to make a statement. Recently, Taylor-Joy was photographed at the Australian premiere of her new film in a pair of So Nude 105 PVC slingback sandals from Aquazzura. Made in Italy, the brand’s shoes feature a silver stiletto heel elevated at 4-inches and a transparent slingback strap.
Taylor-Joy, alongside co-star Chris Hemsworth, has been promoting the release of her latest film, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” with red carpet premieres, photocalls and press events in major cities around the world. A prequel to the fan-favorite “Mad Max” film series, the movie invites viewers to discover the origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa before her eventual team-up with Mad Max.
About the Shoes
Taylor-Joy’s grungy black pumps, crafted from a glossy Patent leather textile, featured a rounded-toe silhouette, a 3-inch platform base and an estimated 5-inch stiletto heel. Additionally, the star’s shoes were designed with a series of thick black straps, one across the middle of the foot and one wrapped around the ankle, with each adorned in a selection of three-dimensional rounded chrome studs.
A number of stars have been spotted in similar pairs of grunge-inspired shoes recently, sporting chunky boot, heel and loafer silhouettes adorned with bulky silver hardware and layered textiles. Julia Fox, often photographed in eccentric fashions made from unconventional materials, was seen leaving an awards show in Los Angeles in a pair of knee-high black leather boots. The star’s boots were adorned with a faux-collar detail positioned just above the top hemline, as well as a large silver chainlink suspended along the shoe’s length.
