Anya Taylor-Joy is in Monoco.
Fresh off the press tour for her film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” with stops in Australia, at the Cannes Film Festival and in New York City, the actress is at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco at Circuit de Monaco. While at the event, she looked relaxed but chic, wearing a pair of Margiela penny loafers she’s been spotted in before.
Taylor-Joy has been pulling off several looks over the past few weeks. She’s done her fair share of method dressing as well as other over-the-top styling choices. She brought the grungy, hardcore aspects of her character to the forefront in a pair of studded black platform stilettos while in London. While in New York City, she caught attention with a fiery all-red look, including a pair of Louboutins. She went back to Louboutin recently in a pair of black pumps in an all-black look.
For Monaco, Taylor-Joy opted for an ombre leather jacket and shoes she’s worn before: a Maison Margiela Tabi-style penny loafer. She wore the style on her birthday weekend while in New York City in April.
The shoes are patent leather and were first released for the brand’s Fall 2020 collection. They feature the distinctive split toe that was inspired by the “tabi” style socks worn in ancient Japan. Margiela first introduced its Tabi shoes in 1988. Since, they’ve incorporated the silhouette into loafers, ballet flats, heels and more. Earlier this year, Maison Margiela collaborated with Christian Louboutin on six styles including versions such as a Tabi pump as well as a d’Orsay-style Tabi stiletto. Those shoes have been worn by big names like Greta Gerwig, Miley Cyrus and Zendaya.
While in Monaco, Taylor-Joy met Lewis Hamilton, the star F1 racer who has become as known for his accolades as he has for his style. The pair posed for pictures.
