Is Florence Pugh still married to Valentino? I hope so, because some of this would be highly eccentric (complementary) on her. However, Valentino won’t be getting Lily Gladstone any time soon; they called out the brand on Instagram for what they feel is cultural appropriation in this collection’s bead work.
Two-Spirit fashion stylist Scott Wabano posted a reel to Instagram claiming that the brand “decided to go the colonizer appropriation route” by seemingly copying a bag made by a Métis and/or Dene beadworker in the late 19th/early 20th century, with side by side imagery of the two bags.

[Gladstone] noted that “Métis and Dene beadwork is stunning and deserves to be highlighted in a major way, but this isn’t how to achieve that.” Gladstone suggested collaborating with “living, breathing Indigenous artists,” which she noted “has the potential to be life-changing for an artist, invigorating to an overly exploited community, and just all around good for your business.”
Your move, Alessandro.
