Here is a roundup from the other ladies who attended Netflix ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 4 Part 1 premiere at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on Thursday.
A Vintage Twist That Missed the Mark
Taylor Hill took a risk by stepping away from the typical Victoria’s Secret model template, opting instead for a vintage 90s Oscar de la Renta polka dot chiffon dress accented with a ruffle collar. On one hand, I appreciate the departure from the usual sultry gowns we’ve come to expect from models on the red carpet. On the other hand, I wish the dress had been tailored for a narrower fit around the upper body and waist, which would have given it a more modern silhouette, but upon seeing the v-back, I understand that this would have been challenging. Additionally, strappy sandals could have added a touch of modernity, balancing out the vintage vibe with a bit of contemporary flair. While I admire her attempt to do something different, this look fell just short of its potential for me.
A Parisian Dream
Coco Jones wore Jean Paul Gaultier Pigalle graphic-print mesh mini dress. I love everything about this look. The choice of a French label was not only fitting for the event, but the print—featuring the iconic Eiffel Tower—added a playful nod to the City of Lights. What makes this outfit even more special is its subtle tribute to the City of Lights to the City of Angels crossover we witnessed at the Olympic games closing ceremony last week. Coco’s look was a masterclass in how to blend fashion with cultural references.
Summery Chic with a Missed Opportunity
Ava Michelle brought a touch of summer to the red carpet in a floral print Zara dress, complete with a white clutch. The dress itself was perfectly breezy, but the choice of shoes left me wanting more. Given the light and airy feel of her outfit, I wish she had opted for a lighter shoe colour. The dark footwear felt a bit too heavy for the overall look.
