Celebrities in Armani at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards

Giorgio Armani delivered a masterclass in understated elegance at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards, dressing four celebrities in timeless sophistication. Whether archival, avant-garde, or shimmering in sequins, each look carried the unmistakable Armani refinement.

From the ‘90s runway and into our vintage-loving hearts

Mikey Madison, whose film Anora won Best Picture, reached deep into the Armani archives and emerged victorious in a vintage Giorgio Armani Fall/Winter 1992 strapless gown. Featuring a black velvet color-blocked bodice paired with a white satin cummerbund and skirt, this was old-school Armani at its finest.

Much like her previous archival moment, Mikey committed to the vision, styling the look exactly as it appeared on the runway—black velvet gloves with white satin cuffs included. Some might argue the look would be better without gloves, but I feel they complete the vintage aesthetic she is clearly going for.

The best look of the season or best look of the year so far?

Cynthia Erivo, nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for Wicked, easily delivered her strongest awards season look so far—actually, scratch that. This Armani Privé Fall 2024 black patent-effect gown is her best look of the entire year. Between the crystal micro edging and the hand-embroidered camellias finished in crystals and beading, this is the type of craftsmanship that makes you audibly gasp. Cynthia always brings fashion to the red carpet, but this? This is a moment.

Armani Privé + sequins = magic

Jodie Foster, nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for True Detective: Night Country, dazzled in an Armani Privé silver long-sleeve gown fully embroidered in sequins and crystals. The black trim and floral buttons add a classic Armani touch, making this a masterclass in timeless glamour.

Sweeping up the awards and looking flawless while doing it

Following his Golden Globe win last month, Shōgun star Hiroyuki Sanada collected his second major trophy of the season—this time for Best Actor in a Drama Series—wearing a Giorgio Armani brown two-button shawl collar tuxedo trimmed with velvet, styled with a navy blue evening shirt and a bow tie. The combination of rich brown and deep navy is unexpected but entirely sophisticated—just like Sanada himself.

Whether archival or fresh off the runway, Armani’s timeless appeal was undeniable at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
