Here are all the attendees who wore Balenciaga for the Kering Foundation Third Annual Caring for Women Dinner that took place on Monday in New York.
Pillowcase Chic?
Naomi Watts wore a white strapless Balenciaga Resort 2025 gown for the occasion. While undeniably elegant, I couldn’t shake the feeling of déjà vu—specifically, it reminded me of the #PillowcaseChallenge from the quarantine era, where people turned bedding into impromptu fashion statements. The gowns simplicity and clean lines are classic Balenciaga, but I can’t help but wish for a bit more excitement.
That said, Naomi pulls it off with grace, but this one left me wanting more.

Bedroom Vibes, Part II
Alessandra Ambrosio’s Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2024 dress didn’t stray far from the same territory. This gown, too, brought to mind a bedsheet more than a red-carpet moment. The flowing, draped silhouette lacked the oomph expected from a supermodel like Alessandra. What saved the look for me were her Boucheron Serpent Bohème earrings, which added a touch of sparkle and sophistication. Without them, I would not have been somewhat sold on the look.
Understated Glamour
Kerry Washington stood out by keeping things understated but undeniably glamorous in a shimmering silver Balenciaga fitted dress. This look was all about the sleek silhouette and the shimmer that caught the light beautifully.
Kerry’s ability to balance simplicity with elegance made this one of my favourite Balenciaga moments of the evening. It was understated but in the best possible way—no theatrics.

A Fashion Miracle
Lindsay Lohan’s sheer lace black Balenciaga dress was nothing short of a fashion triumph. For years, I’ve advocated for proper layering under these style of sheer lace dresses, and Lindsay nailed it. Usually there is a layer that stops before the hemline, but whatever was used here created the perfect illusion. This look showed how sheer can be sexy, sophisticated, and polished—no fashion faux pas in sight.
The Human Sculpture
Kim Kardashian offered no surprises with her fitted white leather Balenciaga Spring 2024 dress, yet it was intriguing for one reason: the illusion of body casting.
The dress mimicked the look of a sculpted mold, playing into Kim’s love for body-conscious fashion.
It was a bold, structural choice that fit her aesthetic perfectly, though some will say that this didn’t break any new ground.
Katy Perry Channels Demi Moore
Katy Perry wore a Balenciaga Fall 2024 strapless blue sequin gown—a dress that you will recognize as the same one worn by Demi Moore at the Trophée Chopard event during the Cannes Film Festival. What made this fashion moment stand out wasn’t just the glamorous gown itself, but how Katy seemed to channel Demi’s entire look, down to the long, straight hairstyle famously associated with the actress. The only element that differentiated the two looks was Demi’s stunning Chopard necklace.
Ombre Elegance
Hari Nef wore an ombre Balenciaga gown that was full of graceful drapery, but it felt like something was missing. Perhaps a belt to define the waist would have elevated the look, but with those dramatic batwing sleeves, that might not have been practical.
Still, the gown’s colour gradient was beautiful, and Hari’s presence made the look feel captivating.
Sculptural Glam
Camila Alves, known for her glamour, switched things up with a sculptural Balenciaga gown that gave her look an edgy twist. The architectural elements of the dress set her apart.
