Central Cee has some opinions about sneaker culture. The chronically online have probably seen clips from his sneaker shopping video with Kick Game by now, where the UK rapper grappled with the idea consumerism and called a pair of Union x Jordan 1s “horrid.” To put it simply, Cee champions the idea of wearing what you like and disregarding whatever our cultural zeitgeist tries to stamp as valid. Needless to say, there’s been considerable anticipation for what his first ever Nike collaboration will look like.
The images above come to us from a video posted by @danis_heat on Instagram, affording us our first look at the Central Cee x Air Max 95 currently slated to release before year’s end. Technically a collaboration with Syna World, a streetwear brand founded by Central Cee last year, the shoe features “Cool Grey” nubuck sidewalls and “Metallic Red Bronze” on the backtab, eyelets, tongue, and Air units. Moreover, the shoe comes with a metal, graffiti-style Syna hang tag to match.
Central Cee’s inaugural Nike collaboration will undoubtedly be met with scrutiny given his aforementioned viral moments, but again, the man is simply making sneakers that suit his style; take it or leave it. While rather simplistic in nature, it’s worth noting that some of highly sought-after Corteiz x Air Max 95s feature comparable grey/black treatments (see the Tour Yellow Cortiez Air Max 95 dropping later this year).
Release information for the Central Cee x Air Max 95 hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this writing, although JD Sports posted a teaser that might hint at a retailer-exclusive drop. In any case, know that this page as well as our Sneaker Release Dates hub will display all available info as it comes in.
