Converse and Feng Chen Wang are coming together again to unveil the latest iteration of their ongoing collaboration.

The concept of this new chapter for the two brand’s started with Feng Chen Wang’s original deconstructed take, (which captured the attention of many globally and gained a fanbase for the collaboration as a whole) on Converse’s iconic canvas sneaker, which was emphasized through Chuck 70 concept shoes, complete with hand-painted details.

That version was expanded upon earlier this year when the designer presented the newest chapter of her vision through a low-cut version of the Chuck 70 2-in-1. Now, she continues to experiment on the Chuck 70 2-in-1 Ox through an updated design that includes two different colorways—black and egret. The new silhouettes feature standout contrasting pinstripes rounded out by vintage athletic-inspired elements that includes reimagined pattering and a hook-and-loop strap along the upper.

Also present on the Chuck 70 2-in-1 Ox is a hook-and-loop strap that provides an alternative closure to traditional laces which, per the brand, adds another element to the deconstructed design through the layering often seen in both Wang’s eponymous brand and her previous Converse collaborations. Aside from the contrasting pinstripes and hook-and-loop strap, the sneaker also features a paired canvas overlay, double-layered foxing tape and a modified outsole spliced into four separate quadrants, which demonstrate the duality of intent for Wang’s idea while providing the wearer with optimal ‘flex’ in their step within the structured build.

The black and egret colorways of this latest variation of the Converse x Feng Chen Wang 2-in-1 is scheduled to make its release globally on May 9, where buyers will be able to shop the shoes either via Converse’s official website or select retailers. While the retail price of both colorways aren’t available at the moment, previous models have been known to run between $130 and $200, depending where you’re purchasing. The black and egret silhouettes are likely to fall within this price range.
