The Penguin is, yes, a Batman-series for HBO Max — specifically, per its Wiki, a spin-off of The Batman, which is the Robert Pattinson Batman movie. I don’t think R Pattz is going to make an appearance — although can you have a story about a Batman villain without Batman? — but Colin Farrell is reprising his role, which I totally forgot he did because that movie fell out of my head. Milioti also reprises, as the Penguin’s daughter, “a psychopathic serial killer who, after being released from Arkham Asylum, fights [her father] for control of Gotham’s criminal underworld.” The reviews seem pretty good, with her and Colin Farrell both being called out specifically as being excellent. LOOK THIS PR EVENT DID ITS WORK!
As far as this look goes, I like it pretty well from the front — it seems right for a Dark Comic Book Adaptation, while still being ostensibly a party dress. But the side, I think, just pushes the concept of a side-slit too far. Like, over a cliff:
