Day Eight of the 2024 Venice Film Festival

The 2024 Venice Film Festival remains in full swing, and it’s day eight of the the esteemed Venetian event. Make no mistake that since day one (for the premiere of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), there’s been zero shortage of show-stopping red carpet moments. From undisputed style icon Taylor Russell kick-starting the festivities in Loewe and Hollywood icon Angelina Jolie (channeling major old-Hollywood glamour) to Emily Ratajkowski unearthing a vintage Tom Ford for Gucci dress to Rachel Weisz dialing up the style stakes in a strapless midnight blue Atelier Versace number turning up for day two – this year’s Venice Film Festival has truly been the gift that keeps on giving.

Tonight, for the long-awaited showing of Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, the glamour and drama on the red carpet was amped up tenfold. Returning to the Venice Film Festival was singer-turned-actor Lady Gaga, who showed up and showed out wearing a voluminous black Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, teamed with an even bigger theatrical Philip Treacy headpiece (and Tifffany & Co. jewelry).
