Devin Booker was one of the most regularly recurring names in the sneaker newswire this past NBA season, all thanks to the rollout of his first signature shoe; the Nike Book 1. While general release colorways have arrived steadily thus far, there’s been arguably more online buzz surrounding Book’s player editions.
The hallmarks of Air Max, Air Jordan, and Nike AGG icons have graced the Nike Book 1 thus far, and now staying closer to home, Book borrows a page straight out of the Kevin Durant signature catalog. Drawing from his USA Basketball teammate’s Nike KD 4 Christmas, a shoe that’s expected to return later this year, by the way, Booker shares images of a “Copper” Book 1 featuring a metallic finish. To the uninformed, the original KD 4 colorway from 2011 is said to be inspired by cookie cutters, a unique and refreshing take on holiday footwear.
At this point its unconfirmed if the Nike Book 1 “Copper” will release or if it’s another player edition, but based on what we saw during the regular season, it’s likely the latter.
Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the USA Men’s Basketball Team begin group stage competition at the Paris Olympics in a little over a week, so stick with us while we continue to keep pulse with the squad (and their sneakers).
