On Wednesday, Gucci’s Creative Director Sabato De Sarno hosted an intimate dinner at Mount St. Restaurant in London, featuring tennis star and Global Brand Ambassador Jannik Sinner. The Italian player, who currently holds the World No.1 spot in the ATP rankings, is preparing for his fourth consecutive Wimbledon Championships, set to begin on July 1.
Jannik Sinner made waves in 2023 when he became the first player to step onto the Wimbledon court carrying a luxury brand ball bag, challenging the tournament’s strict all-white accessory rule. This act of tennis rebellion inspired Gucci’s 1980s-inspired ‘Is a Feeling’ ad campaign, captured by Riccardo Raspa. In one of the ads, Jannik is seen carrying a white version of the iconic bag, which I expect to make another appearance on center court next week.
Among the notable guests was Gucci ambassador Ryan Gosling, who exuded a laid-back elegance in a monogrammed Gucci shirt and jeans. His effortless style set a casual yet sophisticated tone for the evening.
Jannik Sinner himself opted for an all-black Gucci ensemble, a stark contrast to the all-white attire he will don for his upcoming Wimbledon matches, courtesy of Nike. His sleek look highlighted his versatile fashion sense, both on and off the court.
Salma Hayek Pinault, often regarded as the first lady of fashion, attended in a green suede outfit from the Gucci Fall 2024 collection.
Kingsley Ben-Adir showcased his smooth elegance, reaffirming why he is the ideal Gucci ambassador. Dressed in a grey Gucci suit paired with white socks, he perfectly embodied the brand’s sophisticated yet contemporary style. Although his shoes were not visible, it’s safe to say that he completed the look with classic Gucci black loafers.
Hannah Dodd embraced a wintery vibe in a velvet and lace dress from the Gucci Fall 2024 collection, styled with the signature choker first worn by Nicole Kidman.
Joe Alwyn also made a stylish appearance, proving his potential as a Gucci poster boy with a relaxed yet polished look.
Poppy Delevingne brought a delightful splash of colour with her in a V-neck dress in Gucci’s signature Rosso Ancora hue. Her vibrant ensemble was a perfect representation of the brand’s bold and dynamic aesthetic.
