Here Is the One Shoe Taylor Swift Should Wear on Stage Next – Footwear News

Taylor Swift is going back on tour. The “Fortnight” singer is headed to Europe after a two-month break as she kicks off the European Leg of her Eras Tour on Thursday, May 9, in Paris. She’ll stay throughout the weekend.

Though Swift has taken a break from the stage, she’s certainly kept busy and released one of her most successful albums to date. “The Tortured Poets Department” became the first album in Spotify history to surpass one billion streams in a single week, just five days after its April 19 debut.

She also occupied all 10 of top 10 spots of the Billboard Hot 100. This wasn’t the first time, however. With “Midnights,” Swift became the first artist in history to do so. She took it a step further with “Tortured Poets,” breaking her own record by becoming the first to claim every slot in the top 14 at once.

This begs the question: Will Swift add “TTPD” as a new era during her European leg of tour? And if so, what will she wear?

So far, Swift has been teasing Victorian looks in her new album promo as well as in her “Fortnight” music video featuring Post Malone. Designer looks have included a black, Elena Velez fall ’24 ruffled skirt, a shimmering Celine minidress, and a Khaite cotton maxi dress. This era is much moodier than the glitz of “Midnight’s” “Bejeweled” and “Karma,” for instance.

On tour in 2023, Swift sang through a more than 40-song set list, wearing a standout pair of custom Christian Louboutin knee-high boots. Seen in multiple difference colors, the boots were made of thousands of glittering strass crystals with a sculptural heel and a signature red-bottomed sole.

We’d love to see Swift step it up a notch and perform hits off “Tortured Poets” in another Louboutin shoe: the Tabi in collaboration with Maison Margiela.

The shoe had a major moment at the 2024 Met Gala, with stars getting the custom treatment. Ariana Grande, for example, performed in a bespoke version of the Tabi leather pumps that were hand-painted in pastels by Louboutin. It’s a move Swift could make.

The designer-duo created six different Tabi shoes, which debuted during John Galliano’s Maison Margiela‘s spring ’24 couture show during Paris Fashion Week in January. Each shoe featured Louboutin’s signature red sole while embracing Margiela’s split-toe silhouette.

The style’s unique design and wearability would add just enough edge and a high-fashion update to Swift’s Eras tour costumes.

The singer will be on tour from May through August, where she finishes with five nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
