The fashion pack have racked up a fair amount of air miles over recent months. Marseille (for Chanel), London (for Gucci) and Shanghai (for Balenciaga) are just three of the locations the industry has descended upon and on Thursday, Hermès hosted the fashion pack in New York. In the city’s Lower East Side district, Nadège Vanhee unveiled the second chapter of the brand’s Fall 2024 collection amidst the current Cruise 2025 season. Entitled ‘Rocabar’, the show was an ode to the pace and energy of New York City. Vanhee’s collection was ultimately a melting pot of colors, textures and signature Hermès codes. High-waisted bootcut leather trousers, cropped bomber jackets, and mechanic suits were high on the agenda, with looks topped off with leather breton caps, and worn by a stellar lineup of models (including Alek Wek, Karen Elson and Irina Shayk).

“It’s very retro butch, but I kinda dig it. The cast was great. Also the leather jumpsuit and the prints on the silk shirts!” [FiLReD]
“I love the colors inspired by NYC nightlife/lifestyle. More ‘New Yorker’ than Helmut Lang laziness.” [matheus_s]
“The cast is very unusual for Hermès, but happy for Alek Wek anyway!” [DK92]
“The cast is very Gaultier for Hermès. The collection reminds me of Gaultier Fall 2007 collection for Hermès actually. And there’s something very Carlyne Cerf in the styling. I kind of like it. I like the jumpsuits! And I love the plume and the other big bag. The colors are still terrible and I find her work too stiff, too contrived for Hermès. But this is a collection that will interest me enough to go to the store.” [Lola701]
“This cast was stunning – super retro NYC. The styling was great as well.” [RMDV]
