Maria Grazia Chiuri’s inspo for this season was supposedly a) the Olympics, still, and b) Diana of Versailles, a statue in the Louvre that depicts an Amazonian archer. So in addition to having an archer kick off the show and fire some arrows, most of the collection has a sporty body-con aesthetic and some of it evokes posh combat-wear — sadly, a decade too late for Dior’s Jennifer Lawrence/Katniss Everdeen era, because that’s what it feels like in places. And then there’s like two half-assed gowns at the end, almost like they forgot about that part.
