The Air Jordan 17 has been one of the most unexpected hits of this year. On top of existing as a model outside of MJ’s “first 14,” the (mostly) Bulls-worn silhouettes that helped transform sneaker culture, it arrived with a sky-high retail price. Despite that, both the “Lightning” and “UNC” were instant sell-outs, perhaps a factor in Jordan Brand keeping the momentum going. Reportedly, two colorways of the INFINITE ARCHIVES Air Jordan 17 are coming in 2025.
For the uninitiated, Infinite Archives is a brand that’s essentially delivered on its name the whole way through, delivering a slew of goods set on bringing themes from history into a modern-day context. Tapping a retro silhouette in this manner is only natural for IA’s first official bridge to Beaverton. Founder Easy Atabor has long circled the company with associations to their most vaunted collaborators, working alongside Don C and Virgil Abloh at Chicago’s RSVP, penning capsules with Hiroshi Fujiwara, and colliding with KAWS on multiple occasions.
Little information about the shoe’s final layout is known at this stage, but color codes are confirmed. Early info indicates that the INFINITE ARCHIVES Jordan 17 Low will take on colorways of “Beach/Metallic Copper/Black” and “Beach/Metallic Silver/Black.” The weighty nature of this link-up means that we’ll surely get detailed explanations behind each pair’s inspiration when the time comes — for now, keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates page as we get into 2025.
