Irina Shayk ain’t no stranger to the cover of Vogue. After all, subsequent to scoring her very first (for Vogue Spain) back in 2013, we’ve bared witness to the Russian beauty front just about every major international edition (from British Vogue and Vogue Japan to Vogue Germany and more recently on Vogue Italia). Shayk makes her debut as a Vogue Korea cover girl, as editor Shin Kwang-ho welcomes the industry fave onto a duo of August 2024 covers. The current face of Swarovski, Marc Jacobs and the Michael Kors Pour Femme scent dons two head-to-toe looks from Miu Miu’s Fall 2024 collection (selected for the occasion by stylist Matt Holmes). In the two cover photographs, Shayk gazes down the lens of photographer Philip-Daniel Ducasse, captured on location within the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City.
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I swear the more I see of Irina Shayk, the more I realize she mostly just stands there and looks cold. I have seen SOME beautiful work come from her, but I just do not get Irina’s success,” voiced marsnoop2.
“So underwhelming…” Ihhbl chimed in.
Also not best impressed was vogue28. “Always loved me some Irina Shayk but these Vogue Korea covers just ain’t it. After such strong Mona Touggard covers last month, this feels like a huge setback. I despite how pedestrian and amateur the two cover images are, as if caught outside some show during fashion week. Not a fan,” he shared.
Oaklee91 described the outcome as “pedestrian” but do you agree?
