Isabelle Huppert attended the ‘Queer’ premiere at the Venice Film Festival this evening, and while we’ve been begging for the actress to “give us something other than Balenciaga,” tonight’s choice left much to be desired.
Despite delivering one of her best Balenciaga looks just yesterday, Isabelle’s decision to switch things up with an Armani Privé Fall 2024 embellished dress proves the old adage: be careful what you wish for.
The first thing that strikes you about this dress is how much it washes her out. The sheer fabric, while undoubtedly on-trend, feels surprisingly out of character for the actress. It’s rare to see Isabelle opt for something so revealing, and unfortunately, this gamble didn’t pay off. The dress lacks the structure and boldness we’re accustomed to seeing from her, leaving her looking a bit lacklustre on the red carpet.
The only redeeming element of her outfit was the beret—a charming touch that added a hint of Parisian chic to an otherwise underwhelming look. The beret had potential to elevate the outfit, but paired with this particular dress, it couldn’t save the ensemble from falling flat.
