It’s Another Transitional Show for Gucci

Sabato de Sarno only did three ready-to-wear Gucci shows during his tenure — well, and some off-season stuff, but you feel me: It was a very brief stint at the top, and now Gucci is hunting once again for a replacement. So the in-house team put together a show with a retro flavor, which, unfortunately for them, all feels like filler. They’re treading water, because they don’t have a choice. In a way, de Sarno’s own tenure felt like more of a palate cleanser than a permanent situation, and now whoever takes over won’t have as imposing a shadow to escape.
