As noted earlier, I love that Jennifer Lopez is experimenting right now, even if that means open-backed boots and a boxy hat that does not suit her.
I don’t care. Wild out on us, J.Lo. Because her version of wilding out actually seems to take her AWAY from all the sheer stuff she cleaves to for most of her appearances. Here, she looks like she could sashay right into a Ms. Fisher episode — from the Miss Fisher spinoff series — as, er, Prunella Lopez-Fisher, a distant cousin by marriage whose husband disappeared in Australia and now she is receiving parts of his wardrobe in the mail. They’ll solve what turns out to be a murder and then drive around the countryside, where ideally the hat will blow off J.Lo’s head and land atop a pig owned by an extremely hot, sculpted farmer, who will show her how it’s done Down Under. All of which is a long way of saying: She looks kicky, the hat does not entirely suit her but that just makes her more human to me, and once again I’m delighted by the good and the awkward of it all.
