I never really understood why Betelgueuse had a fancy spelling and they didn’t just change the whole THING to Betelgeuse, too, except that I suppose it sounds more mysterious for a demon? I assume the same-named star has some significance? Anyway, the point is, the poster for the original Beetlejuice has Michael Keaton in a striped suit and this feels like a very gentle reference to all those stripes, like she is Mr. Betelgeuse’s publicist in charge of improving his image from “crass demon” to “quirky clown who lives into his authentic self.” It’s very cute on her. I’m so curious what she’ll wear to the actual premiere. Surely Emily Cooper unwittingly already did Couture Beetlejuice in a way one cannot top, so what’s left?
