Jordan Spizike Low “UNC” FQ1759-141

In a development that surely baffles OG purists, the Jordan Spizike Low is a bonafide hit as we tick toward the half year mark in its debut year. With nearly every men’s size colorway selling out in short order, new editions are certainly more hotly anticipated than those of its parent model, a bit maligned during its mid-2000s introduction.  In stark contrast, when the Spizike Low takes to classic themes like “UNC,” it’s hard to argue with the excitement around the “new” hybrid formulation.

It’s a rather conservative application of Mike’s college shades, “University Blue” only painting a stripe on the midsole and a handful of accents surrounding the collar, including the pull tab, Air Jordan 5 lace lock and Air Jordan 6 lace shroud. As always, comparisons to the silhouettes that make up the Spizike Low only make sense, and while it absolutely shares a category with shoes like the Air Jordan 4 “University Blue,” 2020’s Jordan 3 “UNC” feels like a more direct influence for this tastefully shaded edition.

The Jordan Spi’zike Low “UNC” is slated to drop in November for $160; full family sizing is also confirmed for this drop.
