Attending the Munich Film Festival on July 2, Kate Winslet channeled the sophisticated wardrobe of her character from “The Regime,” in which she stars as an authoritarian chancellor of a fictional nation. On hand to accept the festival’s CineMerit award, Winslet paired classic beige pointed pumps with a stately white pantsuit.
Winslet opted for an refined monochrome white ensemble for the event. In addition to presenting her with the CineMerit award, the festival is also screening the war/drama film “Lee,” which Winslet starred in and executive produced.
For the occasion, Winslet wore a pair of crisp white pants, which featured a straight leg silhouette. The legs were a hint looser at the bottom, with the fabric partially hiding Winslet’s shoes. Completing the pantsuit was a white suit jacket with a shawl lapel. The jacket featured a single button underneath the lapel, which the actress had fastened; there was also one button at the end of each sleeve. Meanwhile, shoulder pads offered the garment a sharper silhouette.
Winslet switched up the white color palette with a pair of sand-hued shoes. The pumps featured a traditional pointed toe and suede fabric in a warm earth tone. The sharp footwear provided a neutral complement to the bright white ensemble, aligning with the elegant theme established by the pantsuit.
Winslet accessorized with earrings featuring thin strands of gold-hued chains. The “Titanic” star wore her blonde hair out in waves.
Winslet appreciates a classic black and white color palette. While participating in an FYC panel discussing HBO’s limited series “The Regime” in June, Winslet wore a pair of black pumps featuring a ruffled black flower on each shoe; they were paired with a white suit jacket and tight black leather pants. At the “Avatar: The Way of Water” premiere in 2022, she wore black leather Christian Louboutin boots with black leather pants, a white collared shirt, a black blazer and an untied tie.
In the film “Lee,” Winslet plays the titular Lee Miller, an American photojournalist who was a war correspondent during World War II. Seen on set when filming in 2022, Winslet was wearing a military jumpsuit and military boots for the role. The film is set for release in the U.S. on Sept. 27.
