Kid Cudi Shows Off New CPFM x Nike Collab & Nigo’s Air Force 3 – Footwear News

With the unlikely collaboration between Japanese designer Nigo and Nike officially on the way, recording artist Kid Cudi has shared a closer look at the sneakers in a new colorway — along with a first glimpse at a new Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike apparel collection.

Kid Cudi took to Instagram Friday to express his gratitude to Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nigo for the gifts. In photographs he said were taken by his mother, Kid Cudi posed in a previously unseen Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike hockey jersey, Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Flight track pants and the Nigo x Nike Air Force 3 sneakers.

The multi-hyphenate rapper wore the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike hockey jersey in a “Dynamic Yellow” colorway which also blends black, blue, red and white into the design. The mesh top is adorned with a number of abstract graphics and co-branding throughout. The black Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Flight track pants were more subtle, with “there is no finish line” text printed down the left leg atop of a Swoosh logo.

In addition to the pieces worn by Kid Cudi, the upcoming Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike apparel collection is expected to include a goalie jersey, hockey short, long-sleeve polo top, and a mesh TP & FB jersey. Some of the items are pictured below, and the full range is slated to be released during fall 2024.

As for the Nigo x Nike Air Force 3 sneakers, the Japanese designer and A Bathing Ape (aka Bape) founder debuted a white-based colorway of the collaboration during Kenzo’s Paris Fashion Week show in June. The sneakers use colors and materials reminiscent of Nigo’s 2000s-era Bape Bapesta designs and are said to be inspired by the designer’s love of movies and music.

In 2023, Nike sued Bape — which Nigo had already left ten years prior — for trademark infringement due to the Bapesta’s resemblance to the Nike Air Force 1, among other lookalike designs. After more than a year, the lawsuit was settled in April ’24 with Bape agreeing to discontinue certain models and modify others.

The upcoming Air Force 3 collaboration marks the first time Nigo and Nike have officially worked together. A release date has not yet been confirmed, but the Nigo x Nike Air Force 3 is expected to be released this fall at a retail price of $160.
