Lady Amelia Windsor attended the “Barbie: The Exhibition” opening at the Design Museum on July 3 in London.
The model attended the exhibition in a pair of derby shoes, likely Louis Vuitton Beaubourg platform derby shoes, in all-black. The striking silhouette featured plush black leather uppers that transitioned into 2 to 3-inch block heels, black lace-up closures, contrasting bright yellow stitching, platform soles, silver grommet detailing and thick rubber tread that offered the silhouette a non-slip feel.
The derby style is exceedingly preppy, likened to oxfords because of the lace-up construction. The platforms fixed to the shoe offered Windsor a substantial boot in height. Louis Vuitton features a variety of derby silhouettes under their belt in monogrammed and colorful styles.
The Beaubourg style is not in circulation on the French brand’s website, however, prospective buyers can look to third-party websites to shop for the style and pairs like it. Derby shoes, boat shoes and oxfords all share major silhouette similarities. Each style is fixed with rubber soles, metal grommets and lace-up closures that offer the shoe a formal appearance.
Channeling “Barbiecore” energy, the British fashion figure sported a strappy flouncy top featuring pastel hues and a tiered construction. On the bottom, Windsor wore a slightly shiny mini-skirt featuring a unique floral-adjacent embossed print. Rounding out her look, the star donned a variety of candy-inspired jewelry fixed with colorful beads, gold chain accents and matching gold closures.
“Barbie: The Exhibition” is an exhibit that will be held from July 5, 2024, to Feb. 23, 2025, at the Design Museum in London.
