Last night, Marc Jacobs unofficially kick-started New York Fashion Week with the unveiling of his Spring 2025 collection. The official calendar might not start until Thursday, February 6 but Jacobs, true to his usual self, opted to show off-schedule. The celebrated American designer welcomed guests (including a fashionably late Lisa Rinna) inside The New York Public Library, a place that Jacobs knows well. Jacobs sent models (including girls-of-the-moment Lulu Tenney and Alex Consani) down the halls of the NYC landmark dressed in doll-like silhouettes. Once again this season, Marc Jacobs further displayed his vision of playful, voluminous, curvaceous, and oversized interpretations of everyday garments.

“Tremendous! Stupendous! Plus, plus, PLUS!” [StylishCynic]
“I like those shoes! I think Marc Jacobs could do wonders for Moschino because he knows how to deliver fun and joy in fashion.” [JohannesL]
“What is wrong with me? Seems like I am the only one that is tired of this shtick.” [Deneuve]
“It’s fun, in that NYFW kind of way but it is painfully reductive. A little exhausting if you ask me but I get/see the appeal. Not really sure where else this will go as it feels a bit stuck.” [Cocteau Stone]
“It’s fine and quite boring. The problem with Marc is that after all, his spirit is American sportswear and no matter how much he does these silhouettes, they will always read CDG/Junya. Nobody will remember this.” [Lola701]
“Can we please move on from this wannabe CDG oversized doll clothes phase, it’s the third season already…” [Marc10]
“Is this all he can do now? Cartoon doll clothes? It’s been the same collection for multiple seasons now and I am personally tired of it. And it’s always the same location too. So BORING! Naming the collection courage is a joke. Courage to do what?” [Simera]
