Naturalizer, the iconic brand renowned for its commitment to comfort and style, is making waves with its latest announcement. This August, they are unveiling a groundbreaking initiative: the Global Inclusivity Ambassador Collective. At the forefront of this collective are Deepica Mutyala and Lauren Chan, two influential voices who are set to champion a more inclusive fashion narrative.
Naturalizer has been dedicated to crafting footwear that adapts to the contours of a woman’s foot for nearly a century. Now, with the launch of this collective, the brand is intensifying its focus on representation and size accessibility, ensuring every woman can find her perfect fit and feel valued in the fashion world.
A Fresh Perspective on Inclusivity
The Global Inclusivity Ambassador Collective is more than just a name; it’s a movement. With Mutyala, the visionary behind beauty brand Live Tinted, and Chan, a model, inclusivity advocate, and founder of Henning, leading the charge, this initiative promises to spark important conversations about inclusivity in fashion. Over the next year, Mutyala and Chan will spearhead a dynamic digital campaign and an event series, starting this September, that will reach fashion enthusiasts coast to coast.
In partnership with the Confident Collective, Naturalizer will host live discussions and events in major cities like New York and Los Angeles. These events will be available on podcast platforms, featuring Mutyala and Chan sharing their insights on how to reshape the narrative around fashion inclusivity.
Mutyala is excited about the impact of this initiative: “If it doesn’t feel like I’m making a difference in the world, I don’t want to do it. This feels genuine and purposeful to my goals. I hope we’re leading by example, showing other brands that inclusivity is essential, so one day it’s just the norm in society.”
Chan adds, “My career has been about creating a better world for marginalized individuals through fashion. To me, true inclusivity means everyone seeing themselves reflected in our culture, through brands and media. I’m proud to be part of making that a reality.”
How Naturalizer is Revolutionizing Fit with Contoured Calf Technology
Naturalizer isn’t just talking about inclusivity—they’re implementing it. The brand has made a significant leap with its Contoured Calf Collection, addressing a common issue for women with tall shaft boots. This innovative technology resolves problems like gapping and fluting by creating new molds based on measurements from 170 women, ensuring a better fit for a wide range of calf sizes.
The Contoured Calf Collection includes Naturalizer’s largest assortment ever, with styles and sizes ranging from 5M to 12XW, and extended calf sizes in narrow, medium, wide, and extra wide. This collection represents a major step forward in making fashionable, well-fitting boots accessible to everyone.
‘United in Fashion’: A Call to Action
Supporting the Contoured Calf Collection is the ‘United in Fashion’ campaign. This movement brings together a diverse group of voices, including CeCe Olisa (founder of CurvyCon), Elizabetta Dessy (model and former Olympic swimmer), and Khrystyana (body inclusivity advocate and creator of Real Catwalk). Each participant will contribute to a broader conversation about fashion accessibility, encouraging others to join the effort for more inclusive fashion.
Natelle Baddeley, Chief Product Officer at Caleres, sums up the brand’s commitment: “Our longevity is due to our dedication to evolving with cultural changes while staying true to our brand promise. By including more voices in these conversations, we can create a bigger impact. Inclusivity is at the core of who we are, and we’re inspired by the opportunity to make comfort and style accessible to every woman.”
