The next chapter of the New Balance 1906R‘s modern legacy has officially begun. The Boston sneaker giant just released a new spinoff model called the 1906W on its website, arriving in a multicolor green and orange mix.
We recently previewed four other 1906W colorways expected to release Spring 2025, but to the uninitiated; the shoe differs from the 1906R proper with full-length FantomFit overlays as opposed to relying on leather/suede. Not to be confused with “no sew” 1906Rs as seen via collaborations with CAYL and Action Bronson, the New Balance 1906W features an entirely different fishnet-style pattern intended to provide added arch support.
If this inaugural “New Spruce” colorway is any indication, the offshoot model won’t fly under New Balance fans’ radar. The titular color floods the midsole before making its way up to the heel counter, where matching, honeycomb-patterned mesh rest underneath. The “New Spruce” shade is then utilized on the back half of the FantomFit material, which gradually fades into “Natural Mint” as you approach the toe. Two-tone white and “Light Sparrow” fabric rests underneath it all, while a matching orange tongue revisits the aforementioned honeycomb mesh material.
The New Balance 1906W “New Spruce/Light Sparrow/Natural Mint” is available now in men’s sizes via New Balance for $155; the same retail price as the 1906R. Find purchase links in our “Where To Buy” section below if you’re interested in securing a pair.
