It’s been an interesting run for the New Balance 2002R, slightly receding since its run as that stretched at recently as last year’s “Protection Pack” releases. Though frequent collaborators like Aime Leon Dore, Action Bronson and Joe Freshgoods have taken to other silhouettes in the time since, the New Balance 2002R remains unchanged, still sporting the same composition that made it such a hit in the first place.
You’ll recognize the palette at play here, making trademark grey a true load-bearing tone as it takes up a majority of the suede sections on the upper. The rest of this pair is largely handled by a blend of light grey, black, white and off-white, the lattermost color making its greatest impact on the mesh underlays and the N-ergy pods on the midsole.
This New Balance 2002R is expected to appear on the New Balance site and at select retailers this Fall. While you wait, check the official image gallery ahead to get a sense before launch day.
