For LeBron James, his sneakers have become a vessel to tell stories about his party of five, which includes his wife Savannah, his son (and teammate) Bronny, the middle child Bryce, and the youngest Zhuri. This upcoming collaboration with the board game icon sheds light one the James’ family game night favorite as it features official co-branding and an upper graphic inspired by the game’s currency.
This special edition release with the Hasbro-owned iconic game Monopoly features the upcoming LeBron 22 signature shoe covered in an upper graphic of the play money used throughout the economics and real-estate inspired game. Touches of silver on the Swoosh and midsole nod to the game pieces used by players, while additional hits of pink, light orange, and light green reflect the color of the faux currency used to complete transactions with the bank — or to pay landlords.
The uniquely designed themes continue in the packaging as the same fake dollars are printed on the inner tissue paper, while a custom MONOPOLY co-branded shoebox houses the sneakers.
Currently, a release date has been scheduled for November 19th, 2024 for $200, with China retailers expected to carry these on the first of next month. Stay tuned for official images and release date announcement.
