Nike LeBron NXXT Gen “Equity” FJ1566-103

As LeBron James matured through the years, he began to use his voice off the court, utilizing his platform as one of the greatest players ever to bring important social issues to light. In 2017, he and Nike debuted the LeBron 15 “Equality”, a white/black mismatched pair of that made a bold statement on the heel via embroidered gold letter. In 2024, LeBron is once again being vocal through footwear with his LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD — this time pushing for Equity.

Seen here via official images, this latest chapter of socially-conscious footwear features the same alternating white and black composition — the right covered in white and the left in black. Both are build with premium leathers and adorned with gilded accents on the Swoosh logo, tongue branding, and additional LBJ symbolism surrounding the shoe.

The chief detail here is the word “EQUITY” in gold on the heel. LeBron himself has embarked on a number off charitable ventures away from basketball, such as the I Promise Academy in Akron, to ensure that those who do not have proper resources get a chance to flourish.

The aforementioned LeBron 15 “Equality” was very limited in number; just 200 pairs were released, with all proceeds dedicated to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. It’s not clear whether the LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD “EQUITY” will be as limited, or if there are any charitable beneficiaries connected to this release.
