Queen Camilla attended the UK’s national commemorative event for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, hosted by the Ministry of Defence on Southsea Common on June 5, 2024, in Portsmouth, England. The Queen’s husband King Charles III was also in attendance.
Both royal figures led the event ahead of the actual 80th Anniversary of D-Day on June 6th. The event commemorates those lives lost during the Normandy landings and uplifts veterans. Prince William also attended the commemorative event and gave a speech.
For the hallowed occasion, the Queen donned neutral suede pumps in a textural style. The royal’s footwear was crafted of bone-colored suede uppers and included elongated pointed toes and 2 to 3-inch block heels that offered the royal a subtle lift. Camilla seems to be a big fan of suede styles. The Queen can often be found sporting the textural style during formal occasions in boot and heel silhouettes.
Accompanying her neutral footwear, Camilla sported a baby pink crepe coat dress from Fiona Clare, a favorite designer of the Queen. The royal’s dress was nipped at the waist, further defining her silhouette, and included structural shoulders and satin lapels. Additionally, Camilla wore an ornate beret-esque Philip Treacy hat, white gloves and pearl-laden jewelry. The Queen wore this same outfit during her visit to France last September.
When it comes to shoes, Queen Camilla has frequently worn Sole Bliss and Chanel’s block-heeled pumps in a range of neutral, navy and pink tones over the years for formal occasions. In winter months, these are occasionally swapped for knee-high suede or riding boots; all are often worn with single-toned outfits, similar to her predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II. Camilla’s style is also punctuated by her extensive handbag collection, which primarily features clutches and top-handle bags by Chanel, Fendi and Demellier London.
